Mike and Aymee Curtis Wedding

On October 16th, 2010, it was our privilege to photograph Mike and Aymee Curtis on their wedding day. The event took place at the Woodbridge Beach Club in Irvine. Friends and family enthusiastically celebrated the event with tacos and dancing at a lively reception that immediately followed the ceremony.

Sharks in Newport!!

Local water photographer Dale Kobetich designs and manufactures custom water housing for cameras. I ordered one from him for my D300 last week, and I can't wait to get out in the water with him for some dawn sessions.

The picture above and the pictures below were taken by Dale in the first three days of 2010. While the surf was non-existent, the water in Newport was crystal clear, and some of the shots Dale captured are really amazing. Click on any of the images to see larger sizes.


The Good- One of the most beautiful sunrises in years!


The Bad- While the water was crystal clear, it was also bitter cold.


The Ugly- Dale encountered this Mako shark 3/4 of the out under the Newport Pier. Over a half hour period the shark made several passes, and each time Dale pushed it away with his camera housing.

Three Mornings of Sunrises

There hasn't been much in the way of surf for the past three days. I didn't get wet, but I did see some spectacular sunrises.
